Experimental study on welding procedure of low temperature thick plate S355NL for offshore engineering

  • In this paper,FCAW and SAW are used to weld 70mm thick S355NL test plates separately.The welding positions of FCAW are horizontal welding and vertical welding to verify the performance of welded joints within different heat input.Tensile,bending,low-temperature impact(-50℃),hardness and crack tip opening displacement testing(CTOD,-10℃)are carried out in accordance with European standards.The rationality of the selected welding process has been fully verified.The offshore engineering welding quality of thick plate S355NL is ensured.
