Analysis and solution of paint swelling and peeling of railway rolling stock in service

The problem of paint swelling and peeling during the operation of a certain type of rolling stock was studied in this paper. It is found that penetration defect is the main cause. The penetration defects were studied by carrying out the experiments of pressure bubble testing, non-pressure liquid leakage testing, magnetic particle testing, phased array ultrasonic testing and eddy current testing. The results show that the pressure bubble testing is the optimal scheme.
