Application of cold metal transfer technology in heterogeneous bonding and additive manufacturing

Cold metal transfer（CMT） technology has a series of advantages such as low heat input, small splashing,and beautiful forming. This article reviews the research status of cold metal transfer technology in different fields. This article introduces the principles and characteristics of cold metal transfer technology, summarizes the research status and some existing problems in the fields of dissimilar metal welding, thin plate connection, additive manufacturing, etc., and finally summarizes the development direction and research focus of cold metal transfer technology.
