Effect of nanoceramic TiN on microstructure and mechanical properties of ZGMn13

  • In order to reduce the risk of heat treatment cracking of ZGMn13 and to enhance its usability. Using TiN nanoceramics as addtive and ZGMn13 as matrix material, ZGMn13 samples with nanoceramics were prepared by argon blowing method,and the samples were treated with solid solution. The effect of TiN nanoceramics on the microstructure of ZGMn13 samples was observed using a scanning electron microscope. The mechanical properties, friction and wear properties of the specimens were analyzed using brinell hardness tester, impact tester and abrasive wear tester for the study. The results showed that TiN nanoceramics added by argon blowing method had a significant refining effect on the grain size of ZGMn13, while the continuous reticulated carbides in the structure are obviously dispersed and partitioned. The impact work and hardness of ZGMn13 specimens with added TiN nanoceramic were enhanced. Under the test conditions, the wear amount of ZGMn13 specimens with TiN nanoceramic added was reduced by 21.1%, and the wear resistance was obviously improved, and the wear properties was improved.
