Research on the laser-arc hybrid welding procedure for 11mm AH36 ship steel

  • 11mm AH36 ship steel was welded by laser-arc hybrid welding procedure with ER70S-6 filler material.Effects of welding speed, laser power and wire feed rate on the welding formation were studied. And the optimum technological parameters were obtained. Mechanical properties of welded joint were also studied by means of nondestructive testing and mechanical properties test. The result indicated that the both sides weld were well formed with the suitable technological parameters. And tensile strength of weld joint was 520MPa. The fracture occurred in the base metal. Weld metal and base metal fusion well. The average impact value of weld metal, fusion line, fusion line + 2mm, fusion line + 5mm was 101~221J. The hardness of base metal, heat affected zone, fusion line, weld metal was 155~342HV, which met ISO and China classification society standard.
