Effect of laser quenching on corrosion properties of Ti6Al4V-Cu alloy prepared by arc additive manufacturing with wire powder and different copper contents

  • In this work, Ti6Al4V-Cu alloys with different Cu contents (2.4 and 7.9 wt.%) were prepared by a novel wire powder synergistic arc additive manufacturing technology, and the effect of laser quenching on the Ti6Al4V-Cu alloy was analyzed. The results show that this method can successfully prepare Ti6Al4V-Cu alloys with uniform composition. Laser quenching improves the corrosion resistance of the alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution.
