Analysis of Causes for pit defects on the inner surface of 4130X Steel Pipe for Making Gas Cylinder

  • 摘要: 为査明4130X气瓶管内壁凹坑缺陷的产生原因,分析测试了气瓶管化学成分、力学性能、非金属夹杂物,同时对凹坑处进行了金相组织、扫描电镜及能谱分析,找出了内壁凹坑缺陷的形成原因。分析认为:通过相关检测,证明钢材冶炼和浇铸环节正常,凹坑缺陷为非钢质缺陷所致,而是产生于热成型之后的冷拔工序。凹坑的产生是由于氧化铁皮或其它质硬的污物在拔制过程中压入了钢管表面,或者是原来存在于钢管表面的翘皮剥落。制作过程应严格把控冷拔前的准备工作,以防类似缺陷重复发生。

     

    Abstract: In order to find out the causes for pit defects on the inner surface of the 4130X steel pipe for making of the gas cylinder, the specimen of the pipe is tested in terms of chemical composition, mechanical property and nonmetallic inclusion.And the specimen of pit defects on the inner surface also be tested in terms of metallurgical structure, scanning electron microscope and spectral analysis.As a result, it is identified that the pit defects were not metallurgical defects but cold-drawn defects after hot forming.The formation of pits were due to the pressure of iron oxide scale or other hard dirt on the surface of the steel pipe during the pulling process, or the peeling of the original raised skin on the inner surface of the steel pipe. The production process should strictly control the preparation work before cold drawing to prevent similar defects from recurring.
