Abstract:
Due to the great difference in chemical compounds and physical properties between aluminum and steel,copper et al dissimilar metals, moreover,intermetallic compounds are easily formed during welding process, and its harden and brittle properties can reduce the mechanical properties of the welding joints, resulting in poor reliability of the structural components. Therefore, efficient and high quality laser welding to achieve reliable connection between aluminum and dissimilar metals has become a research hotspot for welding scholars. In this paper, research development of the aluminum and dissimilar metals laser welding in aluminum and copper, aluminum and steel,aluminum and magnesium is reviewed, and the methods of controlling intermetallic compounds during laser welding of aluminum and dissimilar metals are summarized.
