Abstract:
Abstract This article details the structural characteristics of automotive differential bearings, their main failure modes, and potential causes of failure. Through the analysis of actual bearing failure cases, it excludes the influence of metallurgical quality and heat treatment quality, and by using metallographic and hardness inspection results of the bearing parts' longitudinal sections, it quickly identifies the sources of deformation and heat increase in the bearing parts. Ultimately, by examining the unique lubrication circuit design of the automotive differential, it identifies the disconnection of the oil circuit as the primary cause of high-temperature adhesive wear failure of the bearing.
