Abstract:
We analysed the failure issues such as cracks and the block loss in excavator track links. And the improvements were initiated by optimizing the design and enhancing the heat treatment processes to address the issues of the track links. The optimized design aimed to reduce the stress concentration areas, while the improved quenching and tempering process was focused on reducing the matrix grain size. Additionally, the surface hardening process was improved to refine the martensitic structure. These enhancement measures have significantly bolstered the strength, toughness and impact resistance of the links, leading to a marked improvement in the failure issues related to cracks and block loss in the links.
