Abstract:
The high frequency pulse accompained by large current deep penetration MAG welding technology is applied to the angle bevel of the ship thick plates, which to achieve full penetration without back gouging. The penetration and mechanical properties of the technology are analyzed by using different welding conditions for transverse and horizontal welding positions of V-bevel and K-bevel. According to the research: two kinds of welding techniques proved effective. One is high-frequency pulse with large current double-side deep penetration MAG welding technology, another is V-bevel transverse welding position with high-current single-side welding doubleside forming technology. Both of them could formed well, and the results of ultrasonic flaw detection, macro metallography, impact toughness, hardness values could be met the requirements of classification society. It not only reduce the amount of carbon arc gouging and grinding, reduce labor cost, improve construction schedule, but also avoid multiple heating of weld metal and improve the reliability of weld joint. However, high-current singleside welding double-side forming technology applied to V-bevel flat welding or K-bevel flat welding or K-bevel transverse welding, none of them could formed under the condition of ceramic backing pasted on the back of the bevel, the stress concentration is easy to occur in the center of the weld, resulting in welding cracks.
